Who We Are

Cassie Finley 

      Hey there! I'm Cassie. I'm a philosophy major, comparative religions minor. I am currently serving as President of the American Sign Language Club and President of the Philosophy Club. When I'm not working on my capstone, I'm in my work study hours as a Writing Tutor in the TLC or as a Research Assistant for the Philosophy Department. I'm currently the Teaching Assistant for the Language and Logic class, a mentor for the Civic Engagement portion of the Ethics and Society class, and was an FYS mentor. Right now, I'm researching grad schools to (eventually) pursue a Ph.D in philosophy, someday hopefully getting the opportunity to teach philosophy in a college somewhere.

 Marissa Williams

      Hi! I'm Marissa, and I'm a psychology major, gender and sexuality studies minor. I've been involved with starting, leading, and approving clubs. I work for the Center for Gender Equity as one of the Co-Chairs, and am the Treasurer of my sorority, Delta Chi Delta. I've also been an FYS mentor, and am currently a rep for Student Senate. Right now, I want to lead my own Center for Gender Equity at a college, which means going to grad school. Ask me about any or all of these things!

Core Curriculum Changes

Hey everyone! We hope your semester so far is smooth sailing. Earlier today, Gretchen Potters presented to Student Senate about introducing the new core. Here's what you need to know: You have the option to keep the current core or to switch over to the new one.  If you want to switch, you have the option to in Fall 2018. You just need to get the form from Advising (located in Bates), fill it out, and get it signed by the Advising Center. Very simple. If you do not want to switch, and you would like to keep the core you currently have, do nothing. The assumption is that everyone is keeping the old one instead of switching everyone over to the new one. You should definitely not switch if you're almost done or completely done with the current core. Focal Studies are not disappearing completely. They are being modified.
